Since our soldiers work so hard and get very few breaks it doesn't surprise us when they sometimes doze off during our meetings - especially the night students who normally sleep during the day. Today three of the soldiers sat right up on the front row in Priesthood meeting. I was sitting a couple rows behind them. (Usually the sleepers sit near the back) I noticed that a new soldier was kind of nodding off but when he just about fell over, the soldier that was one seat away looked at him in astonishment and wondered if he was supposed to do something. The sleeping soldier woke up with a start and it was all I could do to not giggle. Poor guy. He must have been very tired.
During any other meeting on the army base a sleepy soldier would be doing push-ups after a problem like that. We've seen that in the In-Processing meeting that we attend on Mondays.
That was just one of the fun things that I wanted to remember. :)
Poor guy. I'm sure he was doing everything he could not to fall asleep. He deserves blessings just for being physically present, even if not mentally, right? Just like the parents who take babies to church who help them not get anything out of the meeting. We do our best, and the Lord forgives the rest! ; ) That was fun to read about.
