More flowers and a testimony

We drove around this morning just to look at trees and flowers.  This is a Wysteria vine that is climbing up 3 large trees.

Elder Elkins thinks I'm weird because I have such a passion for pinecones.  I would collect them if I had room (Ok, I do have a few anyway)  They are just so cool, even if they are everywhere.  Did you know that there must be dozens of different types, colors and sizes?

I think these are Azelea bushes.  We would have liked to take a picture of each other standing by the flowers but it was on someone's lawn and we didn't want to bother them to ask permission.

Click on this one and look close.  It's really a cool snowball tree.

This week we visited with one of our newly activated soldiers.  Since he had attended the DC temple trip, I asked him what he liked and didn't like about the trip (hoping to get pointers for the next one).  He looked me straight in the eye and said that the part he didn't like was not being worthy to go in the temple.  Whoa --I wasn't expecting that.  He said that day was what made the difference for him and helped him decide to turn his life around.  He said that he has been inactive for a couple years but when he received the notice we sent to all soldiers inviting them on the trip, he called and reserved a spot.  He has not missed a Sunday meeting since, including general conference.  He's been meeting with the bishop and hopes to be able to go to the temple with his parents when they come out here for his graduation.  He knows what he wants now, and I believe he will make it.
